What TubeBear is
TubeBear is an educational and organizational hub for G-tube families. It gathers general information about tube-feeding care, links to educational videos, and gives you a private place to keep records of your child's daily routine, supplies, and appointments.
Not medical advice, not a medical device
TubeBear is an information and organizing tool only. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making. Nothing in this app — logs, help topics, videos, booklets, reminders, calculators, exports, or answers from a connected AI assistant — is medical advice or a substitute for your child's care team.
You make all care decisions
You, together with your child's licensed clinicians, are solely responsible for every care decision. You use TubeBear at your own discretion and at your own risk. Never delay, change, or withhold care because of anything you see in this app.
The app does not monitor or respond
TubeBear does not watch over your child, interpret what you enter, detect problems, raise clinical alarms, or contact anyone on your behalf. Reminders and notifications can be delayed, missed, or fail entirely — never rely on them for time-critical care such as feeds, medications, or venting.
Emergencies
In an emergency — including a dislodged tube, bleeding, breathing trouble, or a child who is unwell — call 911 or your local emergency number, or contact your care team immediately. Do not use TubeBear to seek urgent help.
Educational content
Help topics, videos, and uploaded booklets come from manufacturers and public sources. They are general information, may be out of date, and may not match your child's specific tube, size, plan, or instructions. Your care team's instructions always take priority.
Your records
Anything you log is your own record, kept for your convenience. You are responsible for its accuracy. TubeBear is not a medical record and is not a substitute for records kept by your clinicians. Do not use it as the only place your child's care information lives.
No warranty and limitation of liability
TubeBear is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, and may be unavailable, incomplete, or contain errors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and its creators are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the app or from decisions made using it.
How to use it
Logging features (feeds, meds, growth, symptoms, notes, site photos) are a personal journal — TubeBear records what you enter and never interprets, scores, flags, diagnoses, or advises. Help topics and the Learn library explain general information; they are not instructions for your child. Reports summarize the entries you logged, useful to bring to an appointment. For any decision about your child's care, follow the instructions of your own care team.
Your data
Your entries are stored in your account. You can export everything or delete your account at any time from Profile.
